Firefighters were investigating the cause of a fire Sunday at a two-story house in the exclusive Hunt Club Farms subdivision.

The fire was reported at 2:46 a.m. When firefighters arrived, the first floor had collapsed and flames were shooting through the roof at 17088 Yearling Ct., said Lt. Bill Burkhart.

The owners of the house were out of town, and there were no injuries. Burkhart estimated the damage at $600,000.

Fourteen fire departments assisted in fighting the blaze. Because there are no fire hydrants in the subdivision, firefighters were forced to cart in water in tanker trucks.
