Amid continued speculation about what will be done with the site of the Brown’s Chicken & Pasta massacre, police Wednesday turned over control of the restaurant to the attorney for the slain owners’ daughters.

Mark Bischoff, who represents the daughters of Richard and Lynn Ehlenfeldt, received the keys to the restaurant, said Deputy Chief Walt Gasior, spokesman for the task force investigating the seven Jan. 8 slayings.

The Ehlenfeldt daughters have expressed interest in reopening the restaurant, but the father of victim Michael Castro has been circulating petitions to raze the restaurant and replace it with a memorial.

Reluctant to draw media attention, Bischoff declined to tour the restaurant Wednesday, Gasior said.
