The buses, which cost the village $1.5 million, will supply service for the Grove Commuter Shuttle and charter groups. Long-awaited as replacements for the 10-year-old fleet of buses formerly in service, the new vehicles were delivered Dec. 30 and 31.
Village Council members took one of the buses for a test run Monday.
The shuttle buses carry an average of 350 people daily to and from the Downers Grove Metra station. The fare is $25 per month.
