Real women play poker, and now they can play with cards that put them first.
Queen`s Rule is a new deck that has banished the king and jack. Instead, the queen is the card with the highest face value, followed by a lady-in-waiting and a maiden.
The cards are the creation of a Chicago women`s poker club that tired of using decks that gave them second-class status, says Ivy Hofstadter, an owner of Ancient Echoes, a Chicago art and jewelry store that carries the cards.
The deck costs $10, and is available at the store at 1800 N. Clybourn Ave., or via mail by calling 800-292-0129.
