The village is considering an amusement tax on residents to help finance construction of the new police facility, officials said last week.

Trustees don`t want to raise property taxes to build the much-needed station, estimated to cost about $4 million, said Mayor Frank Bellerive. Officials are considering several other methods to avoid that, including constructing the building under a lease-purchase agreement with a local lender.
