A judge will draw slips of paper from a hat on Monday to determine the length of the terms that County Board members elected in November will serve. Members from seven County Board districts will serve two-year terms, and the remainder will serve four-year terms. The drawing is held every 10 years after the redistricting of elective districts.
Two County Board panels have agreed to the plan, in which each district will have one two-year term and two four-year terms. The schedule is like the one used by the state Senate, said James Dolan, chairman of the board`s finance committee, which approved the plan on Thursday.
