A Republican candidate for the County Board was appointed Tuesday to the seat he will run for in the November general election.
Ed Fojtik, an Ingleside businessman, won the Republican nomination for the seat in the March primary. He was appointed by board Chairman Robert Depke (R-Gurnee) to fill the vacancy made when Charlotte Kiesgen left this month.
Fojtik faces Democrat Elizabeth Geuzendam of Wauconda in November for the seat. They are vying for the seat from the far western portion of Lake County, the fifth of 23 board districts.
