Village officials have adopted the first update to the village`s comprehensive plan in 3 1/2 years. Trustees unanimously approved the plan, which consists of development objectives and guidelines for property use.

According to Plan Commission Chairman Don Weibel, the revisions are not extensive. The plan was last amended in December 1988.
The document encourages implementation of the village`s overall 2010 plan. It also maintains a section of Maple Street between Northwest Highway and Central Road as a single-family home area, rather than designating it for multifamily housing. Residents had objected to encouraging multifamily developments.
