Representatives for Sequoit Harbor and Marina Inc. of Antioch met with the Army Corps of Engineers Wednesday afternoon to ask for its permit back.
Last month, the federal agency revoked the marina`s permit because of alleged wetlands damage during construction and ordered the owners to remove docks, piers and sea walls and restore surrounding wetlands and the harbor to their original condition.
Besides asking for the marina permit, Sequoit officials planned to present a program for wetlands mitigation and enhancement, said Philip J. Mole, environmental consultant for Sequiot, which is located where Sequoit Creek empties into the Chain O` Lakes.
”We feel it is a sound proposal,” Mole said before the meeting.
Efforts to reach Mole and Army Corps representatives after the meeting were unsuccessful Wednesday evening.
