A local man accidentally fell into Lake Michigan and drowned, the Lake County coroner`s office determined Wednesday.

Myron Fisher, 42, was pulled from the lake Tuesday after witnesees saw his body about 300 yards off Waukegan`s government pier. Police said Fisher, of 149 S. Genesee St., had been drinking with several companions before his death.

There was speculation that Fisher had been murdered because of marks on his body and reports that he was robbed before his death. But County Coroner Barbara Richardson said a mark on Fisher`s head appears to have come from rocks that line the shore.
