”Women who wear these beads have met their husbands, boyfriends; they`re like magnets for men.” So says Sarah Beth Busta about her retro-hippie, 7-foot-long bead strands.

If Busta`s glittering strings of Mardi Gras-inspired glass beads, home-baked clay spheres, antique crystal, Arabic coins, tassles and star emblems do indeed possess aphrodisiac qualities, fashion mavens can expect a love-in of massive proportions Saturday at Annoyance Theatre, 3153 N. Broadway, where Busta and four other artsy designers will hawk dresses and accessories from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This is the third sale at Annoyance organized by clothier Kris Cahill, who doubles as costume maker for the bratty theater troupe. ”My sister Beth used to make clothes with me, until she got a better job,” says Cahill. Beth Cahill, until recently an Annoyance actress, is expected to join NBC-TV`s Saturday Night Live in the fall.
The group, known as Associated Artisans, also includes jeweler Sharon Todd, dressmaker Jordan, and Kris` other sister, hatmaker Karas Cosgrove.
”Nothing is traditional or conservative. Just about everything we do is more funky, for parties,” says Cahill, whose own Lemmingwear label features patchwork dresses made of colored silk squares. ”I like to get designers in different media together for each sale. We spend half the time at these things figuring out what we`re going to trade each other.”
