Big Audio Dynamite
BAD I & II (SMV) (STAR)(STAR)
The title refers to the two personnel lineups of BAD-the only constant being leader Mick Jones (ex-Clash guitarist). He should have stuck with BAD I, featuring Greg Roberts, Don Letts, Led Williams and Dan Donovan-they were better on both record and video. Songs from BAD I, such as the heavily sampled and quirky ”The Bottom Line,” ”Medicine Show” and ”Just Play Music” are the highlights, whereas BAD II offers only one video of substance, ”The Globe.” Not that either band was particularly good, however: Of these 11 videos, less than half have good riffs and, even then, the band didn`t make the best videos-though watching Jones dance around like a big-toothed Gilligan is amusing.
