First Lady Barbara Bush did some shopping during two recent trips to North Carolina, the mecca of American furniture manufacturing.
Bush was looking to redo her storm-damaged summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine, according to Furniture Today, a trade publication.
She has previously worked with Mark Hampton, a New York society interior designer, but seems to be on a tighter budget these days. She visited the showrooms of Edgar B, a discount retailer, and Lexington Furniture to see the ”World of Bob Timberlake,” one of the fastest-selling collections in the country.
After New Hampshire, however, Barbara may be checking out garage sales.
