Women of America, take heart this Valentine`s Day. Romance is alive and well among the country`s men.
That`s the conclusion of the Gallup Organization and Self magazine, which commissioned a poll to gauge the romance quotient of 330 married and 170 single men, aged 18 to 54. The results reveal that married men rate higher than singles.
Ninety percent of married men would choose succeeding in marriage over succeeding in career, according to the survey. Also, 95 percent of married men said they wouldn`t leave their spouse for a more beautiful and exciting woman, even if the men became extremely successful.
Among unmarried men, 59 percent rank relationship over career, and 78 percent said they would stick with current girlfriends, even if success, riches and another appealing woman came into their lives.
Sixty-seven percent of married men said they never would have an affair, even if no one would know, but only 60 percent of the unmarrieds pledged such fidelity.
One category in which singles ranked higher than marrieds: passion. Fifty-nine percent of singles said they are more sexually attracted to girlfriends now than when they first met, while only 45 percent of the marrieds made that claim after six years of marriage.
