– Marshall 61, Young 50-Fifth-ranked Marshall (17-3, 6-2) was a horrendous 7 of 23 from the free-throw line for the game (1 of 14 in the second half, 12 consecutive misses at one point), but dominated the backboards (38-20) to retain its share of first place in the Red-West.
Courtney Hargrays (12 points, 12 rebounds, five steals, six assists), Quadell Kimble (12 points) and Robin Dunagan (11 points, seven rebounds, four blocks) led the Commandos. Jelani Boline had 17 points and Lorenzo Pearson 16 for Young (11-10, 2-6), which stayed close until Hargrays scored six points to lead a 14-4 fourth-quarter Marshall run that put the game away.
”That was the worst we`ve played all year,” said Marshall coach Luther Bedford. ”Even in our losses, we played better. If Young hadn`t played so poorly, we would have lost.”

– Collins 68, Orr 67-Demetrius Watson scored the game-winner with :01 left and Parish McCullum had 17 points and Eltrono Wallace 15 for Collins (13-8, 3-5 in the Red-West). Steve Mitchell had 16 and Thomas Allen 14 for Orr (17-5, 4-3). – Corliss 93, Bowen 46-John Schaffer scored nine of his 15 points in the first quarter as Corliss (13-7, 8-1) bolted to a 31-12 lead and coasted in the Blue- South. Robert Martin added 14 and Antoine Fulton 13 for Corliss.
– Hyde Park 65, Hirsch 58-Chris Martin had 15 points, Phil Davis 14 and Alonzo Johnson 13 as Hyde Park (11-6, 4-4) rallied from a 25-23 halftime deficit in the Red-South. Cardell Jones had 15 for Hirsch (3-15, 3-5).
– Fenger 66, Morgan Park 50-Jeff Dukes (19 points, three three-pointers) and Romaine Rodgers (13 points, 12 rebounds) led the way as Fenger (10-9, 7-2)
remained a game behind Corliss in the Blue-South.
– Julian 76, Carver 55-Desmond Smith and Thomas Newton each finished with 22 points as Julian (16-4, 8-0) built a 32-24 halftime lead and coasted in the Red-South. Carver dipped to 8-10, 2-6.
– Lincoln Park 71, Near North 67-Lamont Duffy (20 points, 10 rebounds) and Darrell Locke (17 points) led the way as Lincoln Park (19-2, 8-0) rolled in the Blue-West. Marlon Minifee had 28 points and Vernon Rule 16 for Near North (13-10, 3-5).
– Manley 87, Cregier 55-Adrian McDaniel led six players in double figures with 21 points for Manley (12-7, 5-3 in the Blue-West).
