An eclectic collection of vintage furnishings and decorative accessories has moved in with the sculptural terra cotta, fireplace mantels and decorative moldings at Architectural Artifacts, 3759 N. Ravenswood Ave.
Daniels Antiques is the name of the recently opened shop in the second floor gallery of the the popular North Side resource. Operated by Dan Popuch, former partner in Gary Marks Antiques, 1528 N. Milwaukee Ave., the space brims with wacky to sublime pieces including an impressive Victorian mahogany bed with a 6-foot-high headboard, luggage, paintings, textiles and items from the 1950s.
”It was time to move on,” says Popuch about the ”amicable” decision to leave an established business and strike out on his own. Even in such uncertain economic times, he says, ”If items have the character to stand on their own, they will sell.”
