Glenn Ingram Jr., 67, a certified public accountant and chairman of Glenn Ingram & Co. Ltd., served as president of the Illinois CPA Society in 1972 and 1973.
A Glen Ellyn resident, he died at home Thursday of a brain tumor.
”He was highly regarded, a man with a lot of integrity,” said his son Russell. ”He worked hard, especially in serving his industry.”
Mr. Ingram served a wide range of clients, including privately held companies, physicians and consulting firms. He was noted for his ability to analyze management and operating problems and suggest appropriate action.
During World War II, he was in the Army in the Pacific theater. He received his bachelor`s degree and did postgraduate work at Northwestern University.
Mr. Ingram was active on the state and national levels in accounting. He served the Illinois CPA Society in numerous capacities in addition to president and was awarded an honorary membership.
On the national level, he was the first chairman of the Private Companies Practice Section of the American Institute of CPAs, president of its Benevolent Fund and secretary-treasurer of the Accounting Research
Association.
He also had been a director and treasurer of AmerInst, a reinsurance company that made certain that liability insurance was available for accounting companies. He was a member of the editorial board of The Practical Accountant magazine.
Mr. Ingram served as manager and past president of Glen Ellyn Boys Baseball and as president of the Du Page Colt League. He also was a member of the board of B.R. Ryall YMCA.

Survivors, besides his son Russell, include his wife, Mary Ellen; another son, Mark; two daughters, Lynn Smid and Laurel Masimore; three grandchildren; and his stepmother, Barbara Matthews.
Services for Mr. Ingram will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn, 424 Forest Ave., Glen Ellyn.
