”We have all the French flavor here,” says Nicole Borione in her lilting Parisian accent, speaking of Walton Street, her new ”home.”
Walton Street is fast becoming a little slice of Paris, what with the C`est Si Bon charcuterie and the Chanel boutique recently joined by Borione`s La Maison de Nicole.
Borione`s shop was originally established on Wells Street in 1986. It was the place for paintings, fabrics and tableware that she brought from Paris. She also sold her French flair as an interior designer, gaining recognition over the years through projects such as the American Society of Interior Designers` Park Ridge showcase houses, and work with prestigious individual clients.

The new space-a charming Victorian house at 66 E. Walton-separates the boutique into two areas. ”The first part has more antiques and more expensive items,” she says, of the living room atmosphere. There are also dining, bedroom and ”garden” areas filled with custom items, ”from lamps to tablecloths, pillows, quilted bedspreads.”
Two or three times a year she returns for the Paris gift shows, from which she buys antiques, paintings and prints, ”and all the things for the art of the table.”
