No. 4 Weber (4-0) held St. Martin (1-3) under 10 points in each of the first two quarters while Jevon Hobbs (19 points) and Demetrius Pelt (13 points) provided the offense.

St. Martin took a 7-6 lead with 2:30 to play in the first quarter. From there, Weber went on a 19-4 run over the next 7 1/2 minutes to take a 25-11 lead with a little more than five minutes left in the second quarter.

In the fourth, St. Martin cut the lead to 49-43, but Weber went on an 8-2 tear, all its points coming on free throws by Hobbs.

Sophomore Jerry Gee scored 19 points, 15 in the second half, and grabbed 12 rebounds for St. Martin. Jerry Hayes added 17 points.

MARSHALL 59, CORLISS 44

Seventh-ranked Marshall (3-1) outscored Corliss 18-7 in the third period and went on to win handily. Quadell Kimble had 15 points for Marshall, 10 in the third period, and Cesare Christian added 15. John Schaffer`s 13 points paced Corliss (1-3).

”We didn`t play well,” Marshall coach Luther Bedford said. ”The individual stuff is not over. They`re just five guys out on the floor.”
