Glenbard West cranked up the power Saturday and jolted West Suburban Silver rival Hinsdale Central 28-7 in Glen Ellyn.

Billy Harris ran 14 times for 113 yards and had touchdown runs of 27 and 22 yards. Javelle Knox carried 13 times for 80 yards, including an 8-yard touchdown run, as Glenbard (4-0, 2-0), the Tribune`s No. 6-ranked team, amassed 267 of its 277 yards on the ground.

”We`re an off-and-on kind of team, but today we executed very well,”

Glenbard West coach Jim Covert said.

Hinsdale Central (1-3, 1-1) tied it at 7 early in the second quarter when Brian Musso returned a punt 80 yards to score. But Harris` second touchdown with 2:17 left in the half gave the Hilltoppers a 14-7 halftime lead. Dominic Adorno completed the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run.

Aurora Central 35, Westmont 8-George Monaco (180 yards, 19 carries, three catches, 71 yards) scored four touchdowns and booted five extra points to pace Aurora Central to its fourth straight victory. Monaco scored on a 37-yard interception return, a 25-yard pass from Tom Kucharski and runs of 9 and 4 yards.
