McHenry running back Bill Marinangel was released from the Northern Illinois Medical Center Saturday after overnight observation for a concussion he suffered in Friday`s 28-12 victory over Crystal Lake Central.

”It was an off-tackle play and I cut back twice,” said Marinangel, who said he would try to return for Friday`s game with Lake Zurich. ”I stiff-armed two guys and was being chased out of bounds when I fell. I don`t know if I was hit or what. I remember my head whipping onto the ground and then I blacked out for a few seconds.”

He tried returning several plays later but said his vision was blurry and that he couldn`t see where he was going. When he couldn`t stand up at halftime, he was taken to the hospital.
