– Mark Grace is considered a leading candidate for the National League`s Gold Glove Award as the best-fielding first baseman. San Francisco`s Will Clark, who has made only one error, thinks Grace is his only competition. ”One of the goals I haven`t attained is a Gold Glove, and that`s the one I`d be most proud of,” Clark said. ”I`ve worked hard on my defense, harder than ever.” But if Grace or Clark don`t win the Gold Glove, Eddie Murray of Los Angeles probably will.
