Nurses on call: The St. Therese Medical Center`s Ask-A-Nurse program has proved to be quite popular, logging 8,600 calls since beginning the dial-a-disease service March 11.
Sixteen registered nurses answer the phones, fielding calls for symptoms that just don`t seem to fit what you find in your medical dictionary. In addition to answering medical brain teasers as best they can, the nurses can help callers find a medical person to render a verdict. So if you feel the need, the number is 244-5900.
