A ”non-event” benefit fundraiser sponsored by the all-woman auxiliary board of the non-profit Lakefront Single-Room-Occupancy Corp., has yielded more than $43,000 toward the organization`s efforts to provide housing for low-income and homeless people. Supporters phoned and mailed contributions, rather than gathering for an event.
