One wonders what artist/baker Andrea Lekberg sips before slumber, for she is a woman with some kind of night visions.
Never mind humdrum sugarplums dancing in her head. She dreams of waltzing chocolates, opera-singing chefs, spinning plates and towering cakes wheeled in with sparklers.
All this-and more, much more-will be on her menu at A Celebration of Food, an evening of food and performances of music and dance, at 7 p.m. Saturday at C.H.I.C. Cafe, 361 W. Chestnut St. (at Orleans Street).
”I`ve dreamed about this for quite a while,” said Lekberg, a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago.

”I thought it would be great to do a whole evening as an artistic celebration of food. The idea is to see something artistically that normally is not seen that way.”
To stir participatory spirit, Lekberg asks that guests bring their favorite food.
”Don`t bother consulting Fanny Farmer or Julia Child, just bring your favorite thing to eat,” she says. Word is the buffet will be spilling with everything from chicken roll and Domino`s pizza to barbecue potato chips and bread pudding. Lekberg promises one of her best towering cakes.
