The stat crew at Northern Illinois likes to call her ”Light `em up Lisa.”
Her coach, Jane Albright, refers to her as a legitimate All-America candidate.
Thursday night, Lisa Foss showed flashes of both and in doing so became Northern`s second 2,000-point career scorer. The senior guard`s layup with 4 minutes 54 seconds remaining in Northern`s 91-52 victory over Wright State gave her exactly 2,000 points in her 101-game career. The Lake Zurich native added two more points to finish with 25 points on the night as the Huskies improved to 10-4, 3-0 in the North Star Conference.

Albright honor: Albright has been selected by USA Basketball to coach the South squad at this summer`s U.S. Olympic Festival in Los Angeles.
”I think it`s more of an honor for Northern Illinois` program,” said Albright. ”There certainly have been a lot of people here at NIU who have helped with the program`s success. Being a Southerner (North Carolina native), I`m excited to be coaching the South team.”
Good luck charm: Flight attendant Sharon Eastland recently wrote NIU President John La Tourette, complimenting Jim Molinari`s men`s basketball team for their politeness on the team`s flight from Minneapolis to Chicago last month.
”I have never been more impressed by a ball team,” wrote the 25-year veteran flight attendant. ”If only all our passengers could be such a pleasure, our job would be far less stressful.
”Much luck and many wins.”
Since that flight, following a 65-37 loss to Minnesota, the Huskies have won 11 in a row.
