A Chicago-area firm is among the top 10, and six more are among the top 75 most mom-friendly companies named by Working Mother magazine.
Fel-Pro, a Skokie-based maker of gaskets, sealers and auto industry lubricants, was the top-ranked Chicago-area firm, rating raves for its child care offerings, family-friendly benefits and salary and advancement opportunities for women.
Other locally-based companies selected in the fifth annual survey:
AllState Insurance, Northbrook; Arthur Andersen & Co., an accounting and management consulting firm in Chicago; Leo Burnett, one of the country`s largest advertising agencies, Chicago; Hewitt Associates, a compensation and benefits analysis firm, Lincolnshire; Official Airline Guides, suppliers of data on airline schedules and fares, Oak Brook; and South Shore Bank, Chicago. AllState and South Shore Bank are newcomers to the list, while the others have been earned the distinction in past years.
