The wares in Sara Breiel`s new shop range from fine antiques to furniture reproductions, but it is in the ”smalls,” the hand-carved boxes or the delicate porcelain plates, that Breiel is big.
”Smalls” are the ”in” name for those enchanting miniatures that mean so much to the personality of a room; they are among the highlights of Breiel`s new second-story shop at 703 N. Wells St.
”My shop offers a variety of unique accessories,” she said. ”Smalls give so much character.” And, of course, they provide that elusively perfect gift.
Breiel, who recently moved to her new location from Chicago Avenue, has brought a Mario Buatta-ish flavor, with treasures from her travels.
In addition, Breiel offers a private line of furniture that can be upholstered in a variety of fabrics. ”My impressions of the English countryside are captured in my channel-backed overstuffed chairs, an elegant reminder that cozy fireside evenings are one of life`s necessities,” she said.
