Troy Johnson and Dante Jones had an advantage three years ago when they were graduated from Oklahoma. They were drafted by the same team-the Bears.

”It made the transition a lot easier,” Jones said. ”You have someone to work out with, someone to hang out with.”

The two lived together during their final two years with the Sooners. Times change, though, and while Jones is single, Johnson is married.

”Off the field, we`re not as tight as we used to be, but on the field we are,” Johnson said.

”Now that he`s married, he`s got to devote more time there,” Jones said. ”Like he should.”

One thing that perhaps has kept this friendship alive is the lack of rivalry between the two. Johnson, drafted in the fifth round, is an outside linebacker; Jones, drafted in the second round, plays inside linebacker.

”It`s a lot easier when you have a familiar face, a friend, to help drive you,” said Jones.
