Eric King hasn`t thrown a baseball since he was disabled with a sore shoulder on Aug. 1. And King was to receive injections of an anti-inflammatory medication after tests revealed no structural damage to shoulder muscles.

The Sox had hoped King would be able to throw on Friday, but on Thursday manager Jeff Torborg said: ”I doubt very much that he`ll throw tomorrow. They`ll check him and might even inject him.”
Head trainer Herm Schneider said the injection is not in response to new pain. ”From what I understand, the doctor`s going to look at him on Monday, and then he`ll start throwing on Monday,” Schneider said.
King hasn`t rejoined the club since undergoing the tests last week.
Sore arm: Steve Rosenberg is experiencing arm problems at Triple-A Vancouver, Torborg said. Rosenberg, who split time between the rotation and the bullpen last summer in Chicago, has spent the entire season in the minors.
”He had been starting, but he`s had a tender arm,” Torborg said. ”I don`t think he`s thrown in a week.”
Fisk milestone: Carlton Fisk`s next home run will be his 328th as a catcher, most by a catcher in major-league history, and will be his 187th as a White Sox, breaking Harold Baines` franchise record.
The next homer also will be his 45th since he turned 40, moving him into sole possession of fourth place on the 40-and-over list. Darrell Evans leads with 60, former Pudge teammate Carl Yastrzemski is second with 49 and Stan Musial is third with 46.
Torborg started Fisk on Thursday night in Kansas City. He`ll play one of the two games of Friday night`s double-header and at least one of the Saturday and Sunday games.
Back in action: Donn Pall made his first appearance of the 12-game road trip on Wednesday, one night before it ended. Pall pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed just two hits in relief of Greg Hibbard, who was knocked out in the third inning.
”It felt good to be out there,” said Pall, who finished second on the staff to Bobby Thigpen in appearances last year. ”I almost felt like I had to reintroduce myself to Pudge.”
Lineup changes: A change in the pitching matchups for Friday`s double-header in Comiskey Park: Jack McDowell (7-6, 4.22 ERA) vs. Craig McMurtry (0-1, 4.30) in Game 2 and Wayne Edwards (0-2, 3.33) vs. Nolan Ryan (11-5, 3.91) in Game 2.
