It had to happen. In this age of concern over caffeine, a coffee company has introduced a ”lite” brew with 50 percent less caffeine.
”We developed the Lite Blend in response to customers who are worried about drinking too much caffeine but aren`t ready to give it up entirely,”
says Roger Badesch, advertising director for Gloria Jean`s, the largest retail gourmet coffee store franchise in the country with 81 stores in 24 states.

Introduced in June, Lite Blend is a version of Gloria Jean`s best-selling Special Blend, a combination of light and dark roasted Arabica beans from different parts of the world.
The 16 stores in the Chicago area include locations at Water Tower Place, at 131 W. Madison St. and at Clark Street and Diversey Parkway (soon to reopen after a remodeling facelift).
