Five will get you seven at hotels on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands during ”Superseason” through Dec. 15, with participating properties giving visitors two free nights for every five purchased.
All major properties on the island are participating because ”we want to send the message that St. Croix is back in business after Hurricane Hugo and better than ever,” said Virgin Islands Director of Tourism Leona Bryant.
”The bonus of two free nights is St. Croix`s way of saying to our visitors: `Come celebrate with us.` ”
St. Croix, one of the hardest-hit Caribbean islands after the hurricane, is celebrating the reopening of its Frederiksted cruise pier.
Other attractions-such as Whim Plantation, the Cruzan Rum Distillery, the Botanical Gardens and the underwater snorkeling trails at Buck Island-also have reopened.
