– Commercial artist William W. Denslow, who collaborated with advertising writer L. Frank Baum on ”The Wizard of Oz.”

– Frank and Joseph Leyendecker, German-born designers who were known for their national magazine illustrations, particularly Joseph`s drawings for the Arrow Collar Company.

– Florenz Ziegfeld Sr., founder of Chicago Musical College.

– Harriet Monroe, founder of ”Poetry: A Magazine of Verse,” which introduced such new talents as T.S. Eliot, Ezra Pound, Carl Sandburg and Vachel Lindsay.

– Margaret Anderson, founder of The Little Review, a controversial avant- garde literary journal that later would publish James Joyce`s ”Ulysses”
