– He`ll pass on that:
Defenseman Dave Manson is going to concentrate in the remaining games on not carrying the puck so much. He wants to advance the play more quickly by passing. Skating with the puck is not a temptation for some defenseman. But Manson is so fast that he sometimes leads the charge out of the Hawks end.
”But as teams have seen me more, they`re taking the ice away from me,”
Manson said. ”I can`t skate the puck up as much. The other teams gave me room to shoot earlier this season, and now they`re not. That`s one reason I`m not scoring as much.”
Manson was on hold at 18 goals going into Wednesday night`s game with Philadelphia. He needs only two more goals to become the only defenseman other than Doug Wilson in Hawk history to score at least 20 goals in a season.
