In response to John Husar`s column of Dec. 3, I would like to make a few comments.

Game populations would stabilize under natural selection in an unmolested environment. Overpopulation is the result of man`s interference. To say that hunters ”protect and manage” wildlife is a bad joke. ”Manipulate and destroy” would be more accurate.
Husar asserts that men enjoy the ”primal nature” of the hunt. I daresay feeding a thirst for blood and violence is something to be discouraged regardless of the form it takes.
My question for Mr. Husar is this: Why can`t you be a REAL sport and hunt with a camera?
