`Amazing Stories” moves to a new time slot at 7:30 p.m. Monday on NBC-Ch. 5. That`s the same time it will air when the new fall season begins in September. The show–with Steven Spielberg as its executive producer–occupied a Sunday night spot in its first year as a series that became known in some circles as ”Not So Amazing Stories” because TV critics and the viewing public weren`t impressed with the show. It finished 40th place in the season- to-date A.C. Nielsen ratings.

”By moving `Amazing Stories` to Mondays this summer, the show will benefit by becoming familiar to viewers in its fall time slot. Also, a lot of very good episodes will get sampled in return,” says Brandon Tartikoff, president of NBC Entertainment.

Next season`s directors will include Robert Zemeckis (”Back to the Future”), Paul Bartel (”Eating Raoul”) and Joe Dante (”Gremlins”).

In Monday`s repeat episode, Sydney Lassick stars as a man with a weird TV set–TV characters on it come to live.
