If you were a fan of ”Trapper John, M.D.,” you might be interested to know that CBS is bringing the cancelled series back–in reruns this summer. At 8 p.m. Thursday on CBS-Ch. 2, the series returns with the first of a two-part episode involving an artificial heart transplant.

Guest star Hoyt Axton portrays the patient who needs the operation. He`ll be Trapper`s first artificial heart transplant patient, which makes the doctor all the more nervous.

Elsewhere, Gonzo (Gregory Harrison) falls for a veterinarian, portrayed by Andrea Marcovicci.

CBS cancelled ”Trapper John, M. D.” because of poor ratings after seven years on the network.
