Tippi Hedren

Age: 50

Birthplace: New Ulm, Minn.

Occupation: Actress.

Current home: Acton, Calif.

Marital status: Divorced for the second time.

Child: Actress Melanie Griffith.

Working on: ”Alfred Hitchcock Presents,” which airs May 12 on NBC, a lecture tour about my cats, and a book.

Worst job: A scene in ”The Birds.” I walk up some stairs and open a door, and all these birds attack me.

The last good movie I saw was: ”Terms of Endearment.”

The book I`ve been recommending lately is: I promised myself that I wouldn`t read anything until I finished writing my book about the lions and tigers I have on my ranch outside of Acton. I have 95 cats, two elephants and a bird sanctuary. They`ve kept me from getting too involved in my film career. Favorite pigout food: Rigatoni.

Nicknames: Nathalie is my real name, Tippi is really my nickname.

Favorite childhood memory: Attending church on Christmas Eve in Minneapolis.

Personal hero: Dr. Larry Ward, who ran a relief organization called Food for the Hungry. I worked with him for more than 10 years.

A really great evening to me is: Being with somebody I really love.

My fantasy is: To do all the traveling that I want, learn several new languages and take a Bible course.

The one thing I can`t stand is: People who aren`t very bright.

If I could change one thing about myself, I would be: More demanding.

People who knew me in high school thought I was: Pretty.

My most irrational fear is: Of growing old.

The best time of my life: When my daughter was born.

The worst time of my life: When a flood went through my ranch and destroyed the whole place. The fencing went down, and the police shot three of my lions.

The one thing everbody`s tried but me is: To be a good cook.
