Oak Forest police said that about 40 guns were stolen during an early morning break-in Friday at Eagle Sports Range, 5900 W. 159th St.
Police said that they responded at about 4:30 a.m. to a glass break alarm at the shooting range and firearms retail store to find that a large cinder block was used to break a window to gain entry.
Police, in a news release, said a display case also was broken, and, after speaking with Eagle’s owner, officers learned that about 40 firearms were taken.
The store’s surveillance system recorded three males wearing backpacks entering the business and removing the guns, then leaving in a blue vehicle, officials said.
The business opened last October in the former home of Community Pontiac-GMC.
