The 2020 college football season didn’t feature all the top NFL draft prospects because some programs opted out of the season amid the coronavirus pandemic.
North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance was one of those players who didn’t have the chance to showoff his skills during the 2020 college football season. However, Lance was impressive enough during his lone season at North Dakota State, leading the Bisons to 16 straight wins and winning the FCS title.
NFL analyst Lance Zierlein compared the North Dakota State quarterback to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. “He hasn’t played much football so he’s not where [Carson] Wentz was when he was coming out [of NDSU], but he’s talented and very smart,” a personnel executive for an AFC team said. “He needs an offense tailored to what he does best and you have to be really patient with him.”
