Bruce Levine’s regular insider report was absent from WSCR-AM 670’s Chicago Cubs pregame show Sunday after he posted — then quickly deleted — a tweet that included an uncharacteristically political and vulgar image.

“Apologies for a picture that was sent,” Levine, a contributor to both The Score and the Cubs’ Marquee Sports Network, wrote in a subsequent tweet. “I have zero political agenda.”

Levine’s earlier tweet — reporting that the Cubs had recalled outfielder Ian Miller from their alternate camp in South Bend, Ind. — included a photoshopped image of President Donald Trump and a derogatory reference to Democratic challenger Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

WSCR and Marquee have yet to respond to requests for comment.

While Levine’s regular pregame segment did not air before Sunday’s White Sox-Cubs game, he wasn’t completely absent from the program. A Zoom interview in which he was a participant was included.

Levine has covered baseball in Chicago for more than 30 years, incident-free.

Besides reporting on baseball and co-hosting “Inside the Clubhouse” on Saturdays for WSCR, the Cubs’ radio flagship, he writes for the station’s website.

Marquee, the TV channel the Cubs launched this year with Sinclair Broadcast Network, added him to its roster right before its February debut.
