Without the NFL scouting combine this year because of COVID-19, college pro days will become even bigger parts of the pre-draft process this spring.
The NFL released a schedule of those pro days Wednesday. Northwestern will be among the first teams to host its session March 9, Illinois will hold its pro day March 17 and Notre Dame’s is scheduled for March 31.
The annual combine in Indianapolis typically hosts more than 300 draft prospects, who go through medical exams, on-field drills, interviews with team executives and coaches.
The NFL announced last month it was canceling the event because of COVID-19 concerns and instead would place the emphasis on campus pro days for field testing. Teams may send three representatives to any pro day. They are not allowed to attend workouts not affiliated with the NFL.
Outside of the pro days, team interviews will be conducted virtually, and most medical exams will be done separately near prospects’ homes. Prospects are not allowed to make in-person visits with teams.
Here’s the schedule of upcoming pro days.
