Preorder the new Apple HomeView just in time for the holidays
If you live in the Apple device ecosystem, get ready for the brand to take over your kitchen counter — and your calendar, your music, your phone calls and more. The newly announced Apple HomeView is a $299 smart display that combines a powerful speaker with a 7-inch Liquid Retina touchscreen and Apple's new AI assistant. It's available to preorder now with an official release date of Nov. 13.
One of the most unique things about HomeView is how it can recognize up to six people by their faces and voices, automatically switching to each person's personalized home screen. That means you can check your calendar, messages and reminders without accidentally pulling up someone else's info.
The Siri AI assistant can answer questions and help you find information using natural language, and you can pair HomeView with compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled devices so Siri can also access relevant information from your apps.
The large screen is also great for video calls — HomeView has a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera for FaceTime, plus hands-free controls for answering messages and following recipes. For a little added fun, it has customizable display faces, including an animated Snoopy. You can even turn the screen into a digital photo frame.

For those looking for smart home features, HomeView can serve as a central dashboard for viewing and controlling compatible devices like lights, thermostats, door locks and security cameras. With compatible cameras and an iCloud+ subscription, it can recognize people, pets and packages too. Apple also offers a wall-mounted version of HomeView, for those who need all their counter space — but mounting accessories are sold separately.
