
Former state Sen. Martin Sandoval pleaded guilty to a bribery charge and agreed to cooperate in a burgeoning, widespread probe of public corruption that has sent shock waves from Chicago’s City Hall to Springfield.
The 27-page plea agreement made clear that federal authorities secretly recorded the longtime Chicago Democrat after a figure at the center of the scheme agreed to work undercover in 2018.
