A 45-year-old woman is dead after she fell off a boat early Wednesday into 59th Street Harbor, according to Chicago police.
The woman was coming off a boat when she slipped off about 12:10 a.m. in the 5900 block of South Harbor Drive, police said. Chicago Fire divers were called to the scene and pulled her out of the harbor.
The woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said. She was later pronounced dead.
Area 1 detectives are investigating the incident.
