On Wednesday, Raven Theatre announced its 2020-21 season, including one revival, one Chicago premiere and one world premiere.

The season will open with the revival of Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee’s “Inherit the Wind (Sept. 24-Nov. 8). The play fictionalizes the 1925 Scopes Trial and tracks the aftermath of a local teacher arrested for discussing evolution with his students. Ian Frank will direct.

Then, artistic director Cody Estle will direct Melissa Ross’ “The Luckiest” (Oct. 22-Dec. 6). The Chicago premiere follows how a diagnosis affects two best friends.

Up next is Jonathan Harvey’s “Beautiful Thing” (Feb. 11-Mar. 28, 2021). Mikael Burke will direct this story on the relationship of two boys in southeast London.

The season will conclude with the world premiere of Joshua Allen’s “The Last Pair of Earlies” (May 6-June 20, 2021). Tyla Abercrumbie will direct this story of a couple spanning two decades.
