
The Pitchfork Music Festival has announced its summer 2022 lineup, with The National, Mitski and The Roots headlining the Union Park festival from July 15-17 in Chicago.
“This year’s lineup is a celebration of the rising indie class and those who continue to pave the way for innovation,” said Pitchfork editor-in-chief Puja Patel. “Our goal was to highlight a diverse group of artists who are taking their musical genres to new heights.”
Friday: The National, which played at Pitchfork’s inaugural year in 2006, will headline the first night. Other acts include Spiritualized, Parquet Courts, Tierra Whack, Amber Mark, Dawn Richard, Tkay Maidza, Indigo De Souza, Spirit of the Beehive, Spellling, Camp Cope, Wiki, Ethel Cain and CupcakKe.

Saturday: Mitski continues the festivities alongside Japanese Breakfast (featuring “Crying in H Mart” author Michelle Zauner), Lucy Dacus, Low, Magdalena Bay, Dry Cleaning, Karate, Iceage, Yeule, Arooj Aftab, The Armed, Chubby & the Gang, Hyd, and Jeff Parker & the New Breed.
Sunday: The weekend is scheduled to close with The Roots, as well as Toro y Moi, Earl Sweatshirt, Noname, BadBadNotGood, Cate Le Bon, Tirzah, Xenia Rubinos, Erika de Casier, Injury Reserve, Kaina, L’Rain, Sofia Kourtesis and Pink Siifu.
The festival plans to abide by the City of Chicago’s COVID-19 protocol; attendees will be kept up to date regarding the latest protocols via email.
Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. March 11. Single-day passes are $99, while three-day passes are $200. The Pitchfork Plus upgrade is $199 for a single-day pass and $399 for a three-day pass.
