
Legend has returned: It’s been three years since Grammy Award-winner John Legend has been on tour and he’ll be live in the north suburbs this weekend. Dancing (and eating) in the streets: State Street is shutting down traffic from Lake to Madison to bring guests a street fair full of family fun and surprises. The only bad burger is the one you didn’t eat: The Midwest’s favorite patty party is back and serving up burgers and treats from a dozen Chicago eateries. Two stages feature classic rock jams while the Kids Zone offers an action-packed area for the littles to cut loose. Jazz in Millennium Park: True, there was no Chicago Jazz festival this summer, so the citywide Chicago in Tune series promises the next best thing. I love rock ‘n’ roll: Get ready to sing your heart out to classic rock songs performed by some of the most talented tribute bands in the Chicago area. Concertgoers are treated the music of Jimmy Buffet, Elton John, Crosby, Still, Nash, & Young, Queen, and more throughout the two block festival grounds. A weekend of music and dance floors: This weekend’s festival provides a bridge within the electronic music scene between modern house music icons and local originators, international techno artists and multigenre performances. Cheers to beer: Celebrate craft beer during this 11th annual fest that gathers local restaurants, live music, and regional breweries together. Local music and craft beer legend Robert Rolfe Feddersen hosts this year’s fest, with unlimited samples of over 200 beers from over 50 breweries. When Irish eyes are smiling: The historic shopping district of Long Grove presents a weekend filled with culture, music, food and drink. Festivities for this year’s fest include Irish dancers, an Irish dog contest, and guests can vote on the best-looking men’s legs in a kilt.
