To be clear: In a city as big as Chicago, we know there are hundreds of dedicated pizzerias, bars with great pies and otherwise solid spots to grab pizza, be it meat-packed or vegetarian.
This list features pizzas that have impressed us lately, from thin-crust to deep-dish to everything in between, and from spots old and new. The latest to join the game: 800 Degrees in Evanston, Fabio Viviani’s Bar Siena (sibling to Siena Tavern) in the West Loop and the Lakeview location of Coalfire, a longtime Chicago pizza favorite.
