My compliments for publishing the column of the inimitable Eric Zorn on Nov. 3 (“It is MOPery to flick that `ic’ from Democratic,” Metro).

The last two paragraphs say it all. There is, indeed, a vast difference between the institutional voice of the baiduhai committed to its bedrock Midwestern Republican values–I too well remember the paper in those halcyon (?) days–and its present, independent diversity of editors, reporters and columnists who breathe fresh life into it almost daily. Were that not so, the Tribune would never make it to my front door.
